IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION
Dhorpatan is a remote mountain destination and road conditions can change due to rainfall, landslides, snow and other local conditions. The final approach is therefore subject to road accessibility and local advice.
The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation identifies Dhorpatan as a protected hunting reserve covering parts of Baglung, Myagdi and Rukum.
For foreign visitors, the official DNPWC brochure lists the reserve entry fee as NPR 3,000 per person; SAARC nationals NPR 1,500; Nepali visitors NPR 100 in that brochure. A newer Nepal Tourism Board trekking-fee table lists Nepali entry as free, so the applicable current fee should be confirmed with DNPWC before travel.
Recommended vehicle: Scorpio 4WD or equivalent, subject to road conditions.
